On May 15th in Santa Rosa, and on Sunday the 17th in General Pico, maestro Horacio Lavandera will present a unique performance: Cinema at the Piano.

In this program, the piano becomes a bridge between two worlds: that of classical music and that of cinema.

“Cinema at the Piano” invites you on a musical journey that ranges from the emotional and technical depth of Johann Sebastian Bach to the epic and evocative melodies of John Williams, passing through the romantic intensity of Frédéric Chopin and the innovation of Astor Piazzolla and Osvaldo Golijov.

The first part of the concert immerses the audience in the universe of Bach, whose masterpieces, such as the Chromatic Fantasy and the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), reveal the extraordinary harmonic richness and structural brilliance that characterize the German composer.

Lavandera

Horacio Lavandera is considered Argentina’s most important pianist today. At the age of 16, he was the youngest competitor to win the 3rd Umberto Micheli International Piano Competition at La Scala in Milan, Italy.

His extensive repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music. He also received a special prize from the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra for his performance of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major in the final round. Since then, he has received invitations to perform as a soloist with renowned orchestras and to give recitals in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
