TELAM. Lavandera for two: in the Colón by Unicef and heading to the debut in Cosquín…
“I feel that I am breaking with some structures by including a female composer like Schumann in the Colón in Buenos Aires and also by bringing classical music to Cosquín for the first time,” the pianist told Télam about his upcoming performances.
“I feel that I am breaking with some structures by including a female composer like Schumann in the Colón in Buenos Aires and also by bringing classical music to Cosquín for the first time,” Lavandera slips during an interview with Télam.
In this sense, the artist maintains that “both concerts are daring and entail extremely complex positions against which, it is known, there will always be 50% of the public in favor and 50% of people who will deny any value.” for a woman to be a composer of cultured music”.
“The entire history of the role of women in Western society shows a great lack of freedom, but as a musician – postulates Lavandera – I find that both the works of Schumann and those of Nenette are masterpieces and incredible music that until five years ago years nor was it named”.
On his way to a quarter of a century of profuse activity, he played with renowned orchestras and gave piano recitals in the most prestigious concert halls in America, Asia and Europe.
Owner of a recognized trajectory that keeps outside the logic of the music market (which also reaches the classical category although it is not as voracious and massive as the popular one), the 37-year-old artist indicates: “My YouTube channel it is, let’s say, my record company, because I manage myself in a self-management way”.
