On Saturday, April 11, at 8:30 p.m., the renowned pianist Horacio Lavandera will arrive in Rosario with his new solo piano show, “Star Wars: Piano and Classics.” This performance not only celebrates technical virtuosity but also explores music’s ability to tell stories, transform emotions, and break down the barriers between classical and popular music. The opening of the recital will be dedicated to Bach’s Baroque universe. Through fundamental pieces such as the Chromatic Fantasy and the celebrated Goldberg Variations, Lavandera will reveal the harmonic richness that defines the German genius.

As the recital progresses into its second half, the piano will take on a more introspective and dramatic character. The performance of Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor and Scherzo No. 2 will allow the audience to connect with the purest lyricism. It’s worth noting that Ballad No. 1 achieved renewed popularity after its use in Roman Polanski’s film The Pianist, where its emotional intensity accompanied the protagonist’s struggle for survival, solidifying its place as one of the most emblematic pieces in contemporary cinema.

The evening’s finale promises to be a display of energy and grandeur. Lavandera will present a piano adaptation of the immortal Star Wars suite, composed by John Williams, transporting the audience to an atmosphere of adventure and modern mythology. This final segment will be completed with the work of Osvaldo Golijov, specifically his pieces Levante and excerpts from the soundtrack of Youth Without Youth, the result of his collaboration with director Francis Ford Coppola.
