Sounds of Eternity
The concert begins with Ludwig van Beethoven’s tribute to the kings of England through Variations on two of his most famous melodies, transformed into hymns: “God Save the King” and “Rule Britannia,” and continues with the 33 Diabelli Variations, Op. 120 in C major.
The second part of this concert will take us through the original piano roll versions recorded by Gustav Mahler himself of his most iconic songs and passages from his symphonies, including the “Adagietto.”
These compositions will be connected with Horacio Lavandera’s versions of iconic songs by members of The Beatles, such as Imagine, Yesterday, and Eleanor Rigby. Finally, a selection of original versions by Gustavo Cerati, one of the greatest exponents of Argentine rock, will be presented.
