I had never been to a piano concert.

I thought it was going to be solemn. Distant. Difficult.
But when Horacio Lavandera appeared and placed his hands on the keyboard, something else happened.
The silence was heavy.
It wasn’t uncomfortable. It was anticipation.
And suddenly, the first notes of Johann Sebastian Bach filled the hall as if someone had switched on an antique light. I didn’t understand Baroque structures or technique, but I understood what was happening in my chest.
Then came Frédéric Chopin. More storm. More emotion. More vertigo. I felt that the piano could whisper and shout in the same phrase.
And when the chords of Star Wars appeared, something changed. It was no longer “classical music.” It was memory. It was childhood. It was cinema projecting without a screen.
The most surprising thing wasn’t recognizing melodies.
It was discovering that a single instrument can create entire worlds.
I left with the feeling of having traveled without moving from my seat.
I’d never been to a piano concert before.
Now I understand why people keep coming back. ✨
If you have the chance, go. I’ve included the dates in one of the images.
